Whether you rent at a marina (see listings below) or bring your own boat and use one of the six public docking areas or a marina to launch, with so many miles of water, you can get totally away from the crowd and anchor in a quiet cove for a day of fishing, swimming or picnicking.
Or make some new friends when you visit one of our marinas where boaters gather for every-
thing from boating supplies to food and entertainment.

If you’re a novice or beginner, the lake is a great place to take a course in boat safety or learn how to sail - SML Sailing School, - but you don’t have to be the captain to enjoy time on the water. Check out the SML Boating Association's activities and events. For a real treat, try the “Virginia Dare”, a luxurious side-wheeler offering tour cruises that highlight the sights
around the lake including luncheon and dinner cruises with great entertainment.
