Come by the Westlake Library at 84 Westlake Road, near Kroger, on Saturday, January 21 to meet local author Joe Dye. He will discuss his book, “From Appalachia to the White House: My Life in the Secret Service,” at 2:30 p.m.

Mr. Dye grew up in Russell County, and his memoir chronicles his time working for the FBI, Metro Police Department, and the U.S. Secret Service White House Police. He tells of protecting presidents, heads of state, royalty, and religious leaders; plus personal trials and tribulations along the way.

For more information, call the Westlake Library at 483-3098, extension 3.
